HUNTINGTON, TX (KTRE) - A Tyler man thought he had figured out a method to conceal his drugs by cutting a hole in his pocket, according to Huntington Police. Unfortunately for him, the leg of his pants have a hole, too.

Terry Michael Sims, 33, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence and unlawful use of a criminal instrument.

Huntington Police Chief Bobby Epperly Jr. said an officer was called to FM 2109 on Tuesday afternoon in reference to an intoxicated man. The officer said when he arrived, Sims was putting something in his left pants pocket and shaking his left leg.

When the officer approached Sims, he said a bag of meth was on the ground. The officer then searched Sims' backpack, and found several pairs of pants, all with a hole cut in the left pocket, Epperly said.

Epperly said it appears Sims had holes in the pockets to hide his drugs from law enforcement.
