Woman Who Abandoned Daughter May Undergo Psychological Evaluation

A woman accused of abandoning her daughter in the Angelina National Forest may be ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation to determine if she is competent to stand trial. A motion requesting that evaluation has been filed in court.

Heidi Meyers has been in the Angelina County jail since her arrest in July. She's accused of leaving her 6-year-old daughter in the woods, then driving off. The girl told police her mother said they were going to play a game of hide-and-seek, but then her mother left. Meyers was arrested a few hours later at a bar.
