2 young Nacogdoches kids left home alone for hours

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches Police are investigating a case of two young children being left home alone for two to three hours.

According to the report, an anonymous tip led officers to an apartment in the 3000 block of North Pecan Street at 4:17 p.m. on Thursday, where two children, aged 3 and 5, were in the home alone.

Officers notified Child Protective Services, who arrived and had police release the children to the custody of another family member.

During this time, the mother of the children returned and explained that she had left the children with someone else and that person had left them there.

Police have not made an arrest in the case and are continuing to investigate the case.
