Crockett woman killed in auto-pedestrian accident

HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Crockett woman is dead after she was struck by a car in Houston County.

Loura Leigh Zuckero, 25, of Crockett was walking northbound in the southbound lane of FM 2110 about half a mile south of Crockett around 12:30 Saturday morning. Tamara Shar'day Johnson of Crockett was traveling southbound on FM 2110 in her 2002 Honda Civic.

According to authorities, headlights from a northbound vehicle obstructed Johnson's view causing her to strike Zuckero who was on foot.

Zuckero was pronounced dead on the scene at 12:45 a.m. by Houston County Justice of the Peace Precinct One Clyde Black.

The deceased was taken to Callaway-Allee Funeral Home. Next of kin has been notified.

The report does not say if Johnson will be cited for the incident.

Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Bryan Becton investigated the accident.
