NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office deputy arrested a Huntington man early Sunday after he claimed to have discovered a stolen firearm under his seat.
Rodney Willis Durham, 30, is charged with theft of a firearm.
According to the arrest report, the deputy spotted a suspicious vehicle in a business parking lot on U.S. 59 South, when the business was not open. The deputy spoke with the two men in the vehicle and found the passenger to have outstanding warrants for his arrest, according to the report.
The deputy searched the vehicle and found a gun reported stolen out of Angelina County under the driver's seat, according to the report. Because Durham was in the driver's seat, he is charged with the state-jail felony.
