City of Lufkin considering home dumpster delivery

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin residents may have a more convenient way of conducting their spring cleaning through a dumpster program which will be discussed at the Lufkin City Council meeting Tuesday night.

According to a memo from Steve Floyd, director of public works, the program, known as "Litter Critter," will allow a Lufkin resident to rent a dumpster either Monday through Friday or Friday through Monday for $50.

A rear-load special collections vehicle can drop off the dumpster to a residential driveway so residents can perform their spring cleaning or clean out their garage.

According to Floyd, the dumpster can hold six cubic yards, which would cost $42 for a resident to take to the Angelina County Landfill for dumping.
