Lufkin Police investigate stripped car found in ditch

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Lufkin Police are asking for the public's help with information on a stripped car found in a ditch on Knight Avenue on Wednesday night.

According to the police report, an officer responded to a call in reference to a vehicle in a ditch on the 1600 block of Knight Avenue. The officer reported finding a white vehicle, possibly an Acura Integra, which had been stripped of most of its removable parts, including the doors, trunk lid, engine, seats and interior parts. Even the vehicle identification numbers were either removed from the vehicle or damaged to the point of being illegible.

A towing company removed the car from the scene and police continue to investigate the incident.
