SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Jacksonville man managed to avoid injury, but not the law, after flipping his SUV on State Highway 147 near San Augustine.

Jessie Ray Pruner, 37, said his front tire malfunctioned, causing him to roll the 1992 Ford Explorer over as he was traveling northbound, about 1.5 miles south of San Augustine, ending up upside down in the middle of the highway at 9:50 a.m.

Pruner crawled out of the SUV without being injured. Two DPS troopers, Brent Murray and Steven Lister, arrived on the scene and arrested him for driving with a suspended license. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of eight pills, which Murray suspected to be vicodin.

Murray said Pruner will be charged with possession of a controlled substance.
