Mother Nature continues to provide downpours for East Texas

EAST TEXAS (KTRE) -

After some parts of East Texas received two to three inches of rain last night, another inch is possible this afternoon as yet a second round of rain and thunderstorms embark on the Pineywoods.

This second round of rain and thunder came from a thunderstorm complex that formed earlier today in South Central Texas.  Due to the rain cooled air from this morning, the storms have weakened to the point where they have not been severe; better yet, we have been able to cash in on a second round of rain that will remain with us through the evening hours.

Our rain chances will continue through midday on Friday, before a cold front finally swings through and clears us out in time for the weekend.

In the meantime, you can  view our live streaming radar and Interactive Radar views by going to our StormTracker weather page.

If you have an Android or I-phone, you can now download our new KTRE 9 Weather application, which is now available on those smartphones.
