Mother investigated for injecting 8-year old with Botox

A mother in San Francisco is being investigated after admitting she injects her 8-year old daughter with Botox.

It's pretty unusual for a mom to be injecting an 8-year old with Botox and certainly is grounds for an investigation," said Trent Rohrer, SF Human Services Agency.

Kerry Campbell said in a Good Morning America interview that she does not believe she's endangering her daughter, Britney's, health in any way.  And that her daughter asked for the injections.  But others disagree.

Dermatologist Dr. Doris Day said the drug is generally safe, but she would never inject a minor. "There's absolutely no reason to use it for cosmetic purposes in an 8-year old child. And so any risk is too much of a risk to take," Day said.

Campbell also told GMA that Botox is the little secret of lots of pageant moms.

So is this the case of a well being mother going too far?  Or is it simply child abuse?  Now it's up to San Francisco Welfare Services to decide.
