PARIS, TX (KTRE) - A Center man has been arrested in the shooting death of a Shelbyville man at a KFC restaurant in Paris, Texas, Sunday night, according to Paris Police.
Dustin Michael Cooper, 26, of Center, is charged with murder.
According to police, officers were called to a KFC location at 3110 Clarksville St. in regards to a man with a gun inside the restaurant.
When officers arrived, they observed several employees running from the restaurant who told them there were still two men inside, one of which was armed. As officers were taking positions outside the restaurant, a man, later identified as Cooper, came out of the front entrance and surrendered, according to police.
Officers found the other man in the store, later identified as Patrick Steven Gandy, 53, of Shelbyville, as the man who was shot to death.
Cooper is also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
