NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police made the final two arrests Thursday afternoon in connection to a hat salesman's robbery on Tuesday afternoon.
Tyundra Ammon Morris, 23, of Nacogdoches, is charged with aggravated robbery and failure to identify. Erron Red Pruitt, 25, of Nacogdoches, is charged with aggravated robbery.
According to the police report, three men approached a man selling hats out of the trunk of his car on the 200 block of Stone Street at 4:35 p.m., acting like they were going to buy a hat. Two of the men then pulled out shotguns and took all of the hats, according to the report. All three ran away and the victim chased him in his car.
One of the suspects fired his shotgun at the victim, striking the car. The suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle down the street.
According to the report, officers arrested Morris after a vehicle he was in was stopped for a traffic violation. Morris gave officers a false name and date of birth, but an officer recognized him as being wanted and arrested him at 12:20 p.m., according to the report.
Pruitt turned himself in to Nacogdoches Police at 3:25 p.m.
Officers arrested Fredrick O'Keith Johnson, 21, of Nacogdoches, Wednesday afternoon.
"This concludes the arrests of the suspects in this case," police spokesman Sgt. Greg Sowell said. "These arrests are excellent examples of the timely and efficient investigative efforts of our patrol and Criminal Investigation Divisions. Officers received considerable cooperation from the public in apprehending these suspects, and we certainly appreciate that. All involved are to be commended."
