NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches County district judge has set jury selection dates for two men accused in the stabbing death of a Nacogdoches man.
Judge Campbell Cox set jury selection for Milton Brown and Nathan Welsh for July 11. Welsh's trial will begin after the jury is selected and Brown's will be held at a later date.
According to a previous report, a fight broke out between Welsh and Thomas Grimes, 49, that Brown participated in, which led to Welsh stabbing Grimes.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the two suspects and the victim were acquainted with each other. All three were inside the victim's apartment Monday evening when a disturbance arose and Grimes was fatally stabbed.
Investigators said Grimes was found in a pool of his own blood at 3220 North Street just after 11 p.m. He later died at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.
