LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A popular fast-food hamburger restaurant from the western U.S. is expanding to Lufkin.
City planning and zoning records show Carl's Jr. will be moving into property currently owned by Wright Motor Company, at 1301 South First Street.
Paul Wright, owner of the car company now located up the street, confirmed that Carl's Jr. will be moving into a new building on the property, after the old building is demolished.
"With retail growing in Lufkin, it's good that we'll be able to put a business in that part of town," said Jim Wehmeier, the Lufkin economic development director. "The community can certainly support another eating establishment."
According to the company website, the restaurant began in 1941. There are more than 1,000 restaurants across the U.S.
