LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man is in a world of legal trouble after police arrested him for felony DWI, driving without a valid license, failure to maintain financial responsibility, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In addition, Michael Wayne Turner, 29, has two outstanding warrants from Lufkin Municipal Court for No Driver's License, and Failure to maintain Financial Responsibility.

According to the arrest report, Lufkin Police officers were called to Dale Street in search of a male with blood covering his face, driving a blue Chrysler PT Cruiser.   The vehicle was located at 400 Dale Street.  But when officers stopped behind the suspect's car, the driver backed into the police vehicle, causing minor damage to both cars.

Police found Turner to be intoxicated from consuming alcoholic beverages and smoking crack cocaine.

They also found his face covered in blood from lacerations to his eye, ear, cheek, mouth, and lips.  Turner told officers that a dog had caused the injuries, the arrest report stated.

Turner was treated at Memorial Hospital and then booked into the Angelina County Jail.  The report also noted that Turner's DWI offense was enhanced to a State Jail Felony due to at least two prior DWI convictions.
