Two SFA receivers named among nation’s elite players for 2011

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Junior receiver Cordell Roberson has been named one of the top 10 receivers at the FCS level for the upcoming 2011 season announced the Sports Network Tuesday afternoon. During the offseason, the Sports Network breaks down the top 10 players at every position. While Roberson was named to the top 10, classmate Gralyn Crawford was among five other receivers listed in the 'Receivers on the Cusp' section.
Roberson had a breakthrough season in 2010 hauling in 61 passes for 1,011 yards. He led the nation with 16 touchdown receptions on the season. Roberson caught at least one touchdown pass in all but two games during the year, and recorded five games where he had at least two touchdown grabs. The first-team All-SLC honoree closed out the season earning second-team Sports Network All-America honors.
Crawford was a two-way threat for SFA in 2010. He not only led the team in receptions, but the speedster was also one of the top return threats in the nation last season earning multiple postseason honors. The 2010 All-American caught a team-best 74 passes for 981 yards and five touchdowns. He also averaged 28.1 yards per kick return with three touchdowns, and returned a punt for a score.
Roberson was the only Southland Conference receiver listed among the top 10, while Crawford was one of only two league players in the 'Receivers on the Cusp' section.
