LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The leader of the Family Crisis Center of East Texas is moving on, after seven years as the executive director.
Since 2004, Margi Preston has helped guide countless East Texas women through the toughest of times.
Under her leadership, the Family Crisis Center also went through several changes, like the construction of the Women's Shelter in Lufkin.
"We really created a really sound plan and we stuck to it. We cut expenses while we built revenue and opened two thrift stores. It really helped with our operating funds to be able to supposed a lot of the services we do," said Preston.
Margi Preston says she plans to step down in the beginning of June.
She'll miss this community, the board of directors and everyone who makes her work possible.
