SAN FRANCISCO, CA (KTRE) - The injury-plagued San Francisco Giants have recalled former Hudson Hornet Brandon Belt to the big-league squad.
Belt, who was batting .337 with four home runs at Triple-A Fresno, received the news Wednesday night.
Belt played first base during his stint with the Giants earlier this year, batting .192 in 17 games. He mostly played left fied with the Grizzlies.
The move comes after the Giants placed Buster Posey, Mike Fontenot and Darren Ford on the disabled list.
The Giants were so confident Belt would be returning to the club this year that they did not even bother removing his nameplate from his locker, according to a story on the Giants' website.
