SFA Lumberjacks one game away from elimination in the SLC baseball tourney

The SFA Lumberjacks are just one game away from elimination in the Southland Conference baseball finals.

With a win Friday, the 'Jacks would have advanced to their first SLC title game.

Number 2 seed SFA (36-21) came out strong in their battle against the Texas A&M Islanders (36-23), holding a 4-3 lead up to the 8th inning.

It would not be enough, at the top of the 9th inning the Islanders broke out the big sticks producing a commanding 6 run lead over the 'Jacks.  With the score at 11-5 going into the bottom of the 9, SFA just could not overcome the deficit.

'Jacks fall 11-5.

The 'Jacks get another chance Saturday, game time and their opponent, are still being decided.
