POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Katy man died by falling off an innertube and drowning in Lake Livingston on Saturday, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Chief Deputy Byron Lyons said Roy Dennis Patrick, 32, was the man who drowned, sometime before 4 p.m.

Capt. Shawn Phillips with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department said Patrick was on an innertube and being pulled by a motorized water vehicle on the south end of the lake when he fell off and never came back up.

Phillips said the body was recovered in the early evening.

Phillips confirmed the man in the vehicle was arrested on an intoxication manslaughter charge and booked into the Polk County Jail on an intoxication manslaughter charge.

Phillips did not know the name of the suspect, but jail records show Russell Crantz, 44, of Katy, was the only person booked on that charge on Saturday.
