SAINT LOUIS, MO (KTRE) - Former Hudson Hornet and current San Francisco Giant Brandon Belt will be out of action for a couple days after taking a pitch on the wrist in during a game Tuesday night.
The St. Louis Cardinals' Trevor Miller hit Belt with the pitch in the seventh inning. Belt kneeled in pain right after he was hit, then took first base.
Belt left the game after the inning. An x-ray came back negative for any breaks. Giants' Manager Bruce Bochy said he would only miss a couple games, according to The Associated Press.
"It got me pretty good," Belt told AP. "I'm a little stiff but we took a few X-rays and everything looked pretty good. Hopefully I'll get back out here as soon as possible."
Belt went 1-for-2 on the night with a walk and a strikeout to raise his batting average to .211. The Giants lost the game, 4-3.
