Central Heights Blue Devils take Game 2 and are headed to State

TYLER, TX (KTRE) – The Central Heights Blue Devils are going to the State Tournament.

Just one more win was all the Blue Devils needed Friday night to advance to the state finals and they secured it in fine fashion.

It was a scoreless match after 3 innings.  Then in the fourth the Hughes Springs Mustangs took the lead with a single to left field by Chad McKinney, driving in 2 runs.

Hughes Springs managed to widen their lead at one point to 4-0, but the Blue Devils were unshakeable.  Central Heights scored 6 runs in the final 3 innings for a nice come-from-behind win, 8-6 the final.

Central Heights will square-off against Bushland for the State title.  The State Tournament begins June 8 at Dell Diamond Stadium (home of the Round Rock Express Baseball Club) near Austin.
