LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A beer box blowing out of a truck lead to the arrest of a man Sunday night after Angelina County authorities say he was driving drunk with a child in the vehicle.

According to the arrest report, a deputy pulled up next to Francisco Ibarra, 35, at 8:20 p.m. on the intersection of Loop 287 and Tulane Drive, when a beer box blew out of the bed of the pickup.

The deputy pulled Ibarra over just to tell him to be sure to keep his trash from flying out, when he began suspecting Ibarra was drunk, according to the report.

After a breath test and three field sobriety tests, the deputy arrested Ibarra.

Because Ibarra was driving with a 14-year-old passenger, he is charged with driving while intoxicated with a child passenger.
