NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches Police just completed an alphabet soup of special enforcement programs designed to keep you safe.

'S.T.E.P' or Selective Traffic Enforcement , "CIOT" or Click It or Ticket, "C.A.R.E" at railroad crossings and "DWI" no refusal weekend.

They were all conducted over Memorial Day week.

Between S.T.E.P and CIOT, officers issued 91 citations for no seatbelt, 13 unbuckled kids, and 177 speeding tickets.

25 citations were given for disregarding railroad crossing signals.

Officers obtained search warrants on two suspected DWI drivers who refused to provide a blood or breath specimen.

The next S.T.E.P enforcement will be in August and September for the Labor Day holidays.
