NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches County has reinstated its burn ban.
As expected, the lifted burn ban was short lived. A return of very dry conditions and numerous fires each and every day led to this morning's Decision.
The Texas Forest Service is pleased with the decision.
"Definitely we're trying to make the most our resources. We depend very heavily on the volunteer fire department. They're the first responder and we come in when they exceed capabilities, so we're trying to do with as much as we can with limited resources," said April Saginor, communications specialist for the Texas Forest Service.
Firefighters have been kept busy in Shelby County where a 127-acre fire started up yesterday. It's 80 percent contained. It's one of several in East Texas started by lightening.
