LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The series is tied at two as the Dallas Mavericks took a much-needed win last night.
"I wasn't too happy about it. Dallas is a good team, but I'm hoping they go seven games and I'm hoping Miami comes out on top," said Steve Freemont, a Miami Heat fan.
Heat fans wanted the game to turn out differently. Perhaps, it should've gone on a little longer.
"Overtime, Lebron James is a closer, and I believe he would've closed the game. He didn't do too much in the first half, second half, but in overtime, he's a closer, so I look for him to close the game," added Freemont.
Although Wade made some crucial mistakes in the end, fans are still supportive.
"There's a lot of pressure on him, with him being the superstar left on that team and brought in two other superstars, there's a lot of pressure on him," said Ricky Johnson, another Heat fan.
Maverick fans say the win was well deserved.
"And I think that Dallas played a good game and it's not nobody's fault that the Heat start off playing 1st and 2nd, third quarter real good, and 4th quarter they give the game up. So, I think Dallas played excellent," said DeCourtney Morgan, a Maverick fan.
Some say Dirk Nowitzki, who battled a 102-degree fever last night, deserves the finals MVP award.
He's the type of player that really is hard to stop no matter who you are, you can't defend him. I have to give him his credit for everything he's worth," said Miami fan Elroy Edwards.
The battle continues for who will bring home the trophy.
"I think it's just like outside right now, there's too much heat," joked Edwards.
"I think it'll be a good look to bring the ring to Texas, period," said Morgan.
Fans from both sides eagerly await tip-off for tomorrow's game. Game five is in Dallas again before heading back to Miami for game six.
