Central Heights falls in state championship game

ROUND ROCK, TX (KTRE) -

The Central Heights baseball team fell short of a state championship after losing to Cameron Yoe, 7-3, Thursday afternoon in Dell Stadium in Round Rock.

Cameron Yoe scored five runs in the second inning, one in the fourth and one in the fifth. The Blue Devils scored one in the fourth and two in the fifth.

Head Coach Craig Fuller said he was proud of his team, which started the season as the No. 2 ranked team in the state.

"We've coached those kids, a lot of them, since they were little in summer league and T-ball and that kind of stuff," Fuller said. "Now they're seniors. It was a nice experience."

Fuller said the team loses eight players to graduation but expects them to make another deep run with a younger squad.
