SEATTLE (AP) - Jason Castro, Chris Carter and Matt Dominguez homered to lift the Houston Astros to a 5-2 win over the Seattle Mariners last night. Collin McHugh struck out a career-high 12 in his season debut. Justin Smoak provided Seattle's only offense with a two-run homer in the seventh inning.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Michael Choice singled in the go-ahead run in the ninth inning as the Texas Rangers rallied to beat the Oakland Athletics 5-4 last night. Josh Wilson doubled to drive in the tying run just ahead of Choice. Alexi Ogando recorded one out in the eighth to pick up the win. Joakim Soria pitched the ninth for his fifth save.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - The Texas Rangers activated right-hander Nick Martinez to make a start against the Oakland Athletics last night. Martinez was drafted in the 18th round of the 2011 draft by the Rangers. Texas designated right-hander Hector Noesi for assignment to make room on the 25-man roster for Martinez.

WACO, Texas (AP) - Baylor sophomore center Isaiah Austin has decided to forgo the remainder of his collegiate eligibility to enter the NBA draft. Austin averaged 12.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in his 73 games the past two seasons with the Bears. Austin couldn't do pre-draft workouts last year because of a torn labrum in his shoulder.
