Sports Minute: Here is the latest Texas sports news from The Associated Press

DALLAS (AP) - Loyola-Chicago's biggest fan is the team chaplain who prays with the players before games and gives them scouting reports the next day. So 98-year-old Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt was more thankful than shocked when Donte Ingram hit a last-second 3-pointer to beat Miami in the Ramblers' first NCAA Tournament game in 33 years. Schmidt will lead the pregame prayer again Saturday when 11th-seeded Loyola plays No. 3 seed Tennessee.

DALLAS (AP) - Keenan Evans scored 19 of his 23 points after halftime and third-seeded Texas Tech overcame Stephen F. Austin 70-60 in a first-round NCAA Tournament game. The Big 12 runner-up Red Raiders didn't lead after halftime until Evans drove for a layup with 3:58 left to put them ahead to stay. That was a part of a game-ending 13-2 run. The Lumberjacks were trying to take down a Big 12 team in the first round like they did against West Virginia two years ago.

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Rob Gray drove for a wind-milling layup that just trickled over the rim with 1.1 seconds left, and Trey Kell's off-balance 3 at the buzzer was no good, giving No. 6 seed Houston a 67-65 victory over 11th-seeded San Diego State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Cougars advanced to play the Michigan-Montana winner in the second round on Saturday.

HOUSTON (AP) - James Harden had 24 points, Eric Gordon added 23 and the Houston Rockets outlasted the Los Angeles Clippers for a 101-96 win. The Clippers scored six straight points, with four from Austin Rivers, to cut the lead to a basket with less than a minute left. But on the next possession, Harden stepped back and knocked down a long 2-pointer with Rivers in his face to make it 100-96.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - LaMarcus Aldridge scored 25 points, Dejounte Murray had 18 points and 12 rebounds, and the San Antonio Spurs overcame another late rally to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 98-93 on Thursday night. New Orleans was playing hours after learning Pelicans owner Tom Benson had died.

DALLAS (AP) - Egor Koulechov scored 20 points and Florida eased past St. Bonaventure 77-62, ending the Bonnies' postseason run two days after their first NCAA Tournament victory in 48 years. Jalen Hudson scored 16 points and Chris Chiozza had 11 assists for the sixth-seeded Gators, who have reached the Elite Eight the past five times they've been in the tournament.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Xavier guard Trevon Bluiett has known Texas Southern's leading scorer since middle school and even played him five or six times. For his part, Demontrae Jefferson says he might need to see a face to remember Bluiett when asked about their relationship. Don't take that as bulletin board material. Texas Southern coach Mike Davis says that's just the personality and attitude of his 5-foot-7 sophomore guard who won't even admit knowing who LeBron James is.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Every now and again Virginia coach Tony Bennett keeps a doorknocker in the Cavaliers locker room back in Charlottesville as reminder of what his team hopes to do this year to "break down the door" and reach the Final Four. Despite being a No. 1 seed twice and a No. 2 seed once in the previous four seasons, Virginia hasn't been able to reach that goal under Bennett. The top-seeded Cavaliers open tournament play Friday against 16th-seeded UMBC.
