TYLER, TX - Officials with Trinity Mother Frances Sports Medicine and UT Tyler announced Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will conduct a Football FUNdamentals camp on June 18 at 8 a.m. at the intramural fields on the UT Tyler Campus. The camp is open to boys and girls age 7-14.
According to information provided by Trinity Mother Frances, Peterson is teaming up with local high school football coaches to offer instruction in several key football skill areas including running back, quarterback, receiver and defensive back. A special discussion of the game of football will be presented by Peterson, the 2007 NFL Rookie of the year, and campers will leave with a better understanding of the fundamentals of these positions and the mental aspects of the game. At the conclusion of the instructional sessions, campers will be placed on a team according to his or her age and participate in a short flag football game.
The camp is being presented by The University of Texas at Tyler and Trinity Mother Frances Sports Medicine and costs $5.00 per athlete with each participant receiving a camp T-shirt. All funds will benefit local youth football programs selected by Peterson's All Day Foundation.
