4 injured when Nacogdoches man turns in front of rig

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A two-vehicle wreck sent four people to the hospital after a Nacogdoches man turned in front of an 18-wheeler Tuesday morning, according to Lufkin Police.

According to the report, Jimmy Brock, 33, of Lufkin, was at a stop light in an 18-wheeler on the intersection of Ellen Trout Drive and Kurth Avenue, in the westbound lane. Abel Mandujano Montoya, 40, of Nacogdoches, was in a Nissan Pathfinder to the right of Montoya. When the light turned green, Brock, who was in a lane in which he had the option to turn left or go straight, went straight while Montoya attempted to make an illegal left-hand turn.

Brock hit Montoya's vehicle on the back driver's side, spinning Montoya's vehicle around.

Montoya and his three passengers were taken to a Lufkin hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Montoya will be cited for disregarding turn markers at an intersection.
