KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - The five students involved in the vandalism of the Kilgore ISD bus fleet back in early April have been charged.
Each of the five of the senior students have been charged with Class C Misdemeanor Criminal Mischief.
After discussing the matter with Kilgore ISD on several occasions, Gregg County District Attorney Carl Dorrough said, "I have come to the conclusion that the most appropriate course of action is to file class c misdemeanor chargers against the five students."
Classes were canceled after staff members noticed that tires on nearly all of the buses at the bus barn had been tampered with.
The students, once identified, were transferred to an alternative school, but were allowed to graduate.
A class c misdemeanor charge carries a maximum fine of up to $500.
