Report: Lufkin man killed in pipeline accident

NEWTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Jasper radio station website is reporting a Lufkin man died Sunday in an industrial accident in Newton County.

According to KJAS, Sheriff Joe Walker said it appears Kyle Helton, 22, was crushed when a large pipe assembly fell on him, at a work site located at FM 2626, about four miles from State Highway 87.

Helton was working for FESCO, Inc., a petroleum engineering services company and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.
