LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police arrested a Lufkin man Monday night after a woman reported he was hiding behind her bedroom door after breaking into her house.
Tony Houston, 31, is charged with burglary of habitation, as well as outstanding arrest warrants held by Angelina County.
According to the police report, officers responded to a residence located on Wilson Avenue. The woman stated that upon arriving home, she found that someone had forced open the back door to her residence. She said she then walked to her bedroom and found the Houston hiding behind her door.
According to the reports, the suspect then ran away from the residence. Officers reported finding Houston on Culverhouse Street.
Houston tried to run away from the officers and resisted their attempts to restrain him, according to the report. Officers managed to take him into custody and booked him into the Angelina County Jail for the offense of burglary of a habitation, evading arrest or detention and resisting arrest or transport, according to the report.
Houston was also arrested for outstanding arrest warrants for criminal nonsupport and revocation of probation.
While conducting their investigation into the burglary, officers learned that Shelby County held an outstanding state jail felony warrant for the arrest of the burglary victim, Robin Louise Griffin, 34, according to the report.
Griffin was booked into the Angelina County Jail on the arrest warrant.
