LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police officers arrested Louis Johnson, 31, Lufkin, this morning for the offense of public intoxication and resisting arrest, search and interrogation.
According to the arrest report, officers responded in reference to a male "passed out" in his car at the city of Lufkin fire station located on Kurth Street.
Johnson was asleep in the driver's seat with a beer can in his lap. Police had reason to believe that Johnson was intoxicated. Officers tried to take physical custody of him for public intoxication, but Johnson resisted and attempted to get away, according to the report.
Johnson tried grabbing an officer's hands and swinging his arms back and forth. Officers then used pepper spray on Johnson and restrained him, according to the report.
Johnson was booked into the Angelina County Jail. Public intoxication and resisting arrest are both misdemeanor offenses.
