San Augustine Co. mom arrested for alleged drunk wreck with kids in car

SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

DPS responded to a one-vehicle wreck Saturday afternoon in San Augustine County.  The driver was arrested for drinking and driving with two kids in tow.

According to Trooper Brent Murray, around 1 P.M. Tamara Brown, 41 of San Augustine County, went off the roadway, went over a ditch and rolled her car over.  It happened on County Road 170, a tenth of a mile east of F.M. 2213.  She had two children in the car with her, ages 10 and 12.

No one was injured, but Murray says he smelled alcohol on Brown.  He says he also observed an open container of beer in the car.  She allegedly told the trooper she was trying to take her kids back to their dad who lives in Fort Worth.

She was arrested for Driving while Intoxicated with a child under the age of 15 and Driving with License Invalid.
