Collision between car and motorcycle kills 4

DPS officials confirm that four people were killed in an afternoon collision on Highway 19 in Canton.

Troopers tell East Texas News that around 2pm Sunday, a Ford Mustang veered across the center line and struck two motorcycles.

The motorcycles were each carrying 2 people. All 4 of the riders were killed. Their names have not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The Mustang caught fire moments after the wreck, but all 3 people were able to get out.

The driver, 30-year old Jose Pena and his passenger, 30-year old Rosalind Vela of Rosharon, Texas, were both taken to local hospitals.

A 3-year old boy who was in the car was flown to Childrens Hospital in Dallas. His name and condition have not yet been released.
