One teen dead, three injured in San Jacinto County wreck

SAN JACINTO COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - One teenager is dead, and three are injured after a one-vehicle wreck Monday night, according to DPS.  Three of the teens were not wearing their seatbelts.

Patricia Hightower, 18 of Coldspring, was driving a 2001 Jeep Cherokee on highway 150 with three other passengers.  Just before 8:30 P.M. the car left the road, overturned and hit a utility pole.

One of the passengers, Shantoya Hill, 18 of Coldspring, died at 9:52 P.M. at Cleveland Memorial Hospital.  Another passenger, Aeriel Shelley, 16 of Coldspring, is in critical condition at Conroe Regional Hospital.  She suffered broken bones and abrasions, according to the DPS report.  Kelvis Punch, Jr., 18 of Pointe Blank, was also in the car.  He was taken to Conroe Regional for head and abdominal injuries.  He's also in fair condition.

Hightower, the driver, was taken to Conroe Regional Hospital with internal, abdominal injuries.  DPS says she's in fair condition.  She was the only wearing a seatbelt.
