HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The Houston County Sheriff's Office is attempting to identify a person who struck a convenience store clerk in the back of the head with a metal pipe.
According to Chief Deputy G.P. Shearer, deputies were called to investigate an aggravated assault at the Austonio Stop convenience store on Monday at 4:27 p.m. A woman who worked at the store said she was struck on the back of the neck and head with a metal pipe.
According to Shearer, the suspect is described as a black man driving a maroon Dodge truck. He was last seen driving west on State Highway 21 from FM 1280. Authorities do not know the motive behind the attack.
The sheriff's office is following up a few leads in an attempt to identify and locate the suspect.
