Lufkin Pilgrim's Pride plant to hold job fair

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - For the first time in four years, the Lufkin Pilgrim's Pride plant is holding a job fair.

They plan to hire about 100 workers for jobs on their de-boning lines as well as packers and trimmers.

Positions opened up after the company installed a manual de-boning line back in April.

Starting pay is $8.25 per hour (+25 cent shift premium for nights,) increasing to $10 per hour after 60 days.

Certain jobs could pay more based on training and performance.

Benefits include health and welfare benefits, paid life insurance, paid STD insurance, vision, dental etc with employee premiums.

There are eight paid holidays and employees are entitled to one week vacation after one year on the job, two weeks after three years, three weeks after nine years, and four weeks after 20 years.

Successful applicants could begin work within five days after interviewing.  Applicants should be 18 years old and have a stable work history.

Interviews are being held July 16, 2011 at the job fair at the Pilgrim's Pride plant in Lufkin off Frank Street.

The fair will be held from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
