East Texan Worries About Family In California Wildfires

As the devastating wildfires continue to rage in California, East Texans who have relatives there are feeling helpless.

Nacogdoches County Juvenile Probation Officer Kay Hooper has a daughter and two grandchildren who were forced to evacuate their home Tuesday afternoon. The family lives in Big Bear, California, where fires have been raging.

"There's not anything you can do. You can just hope and pray that somehow a lot of the homes are rescued and survive. You can always rebuild and also replace, but she and the children are safe," said Hooper.

Hooper's daughter and her nine- and five-year-old daughters, along with their dogs and cats, are staying in a Los Angeles apartment.
