LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man pleaded guilty Monday morning to running away from police, accepting a 12-month state jail sentence.
Police arrested Gerald Jermaine Mack, 38, in August when an officer observed him parked on the wrong side of the road on the 100 block of Kelley Street. According to the report, Mack saw the officer and got out of the car and fled on foot. The officer caught him in the back yard of a residence on the 700 block of Moore Street and apprehended him.
The report states the officer searched his vehicle and found suspected marijuana and cocaine.
Because Mack has a previous conviction for evading arrest, he was charged with a state jail felony of the same charge.
