NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches County Sheriff's deputies managed to arrest a man Monday night following an incident in which a man allegedly tried to run acquaintance off the highway after threatening them with a gun.

Timothy Alan Wilson, 47, of Milam, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Sheriff Thomas Kerss said more charges may follow.

According to Kerss, Wilson was at a residence, located near the intersection of U.S. 259 and County Road 144, with several other people, around 6:45 p.m. For some reason, he became angry with them and first threatened them with a gun, according to Kerss.

Three of the people got in a vehicle, so he got in his 2006 Ford pickup and began ramming their vehicle, Kerss said. The three drove off down U.S. 259 toward the Rusk County line and he went after them, according to Kerss, ramming them more down the road.

Kerss said they made it almost to the Rusk County line before doing a U-turn and heading back to Nacogdoches. Wilson kept following them and rammed them some more, Kerss said.

Another driver, who Wilson actually ran off the road, called dispatch and reported the incident, Kerss said. Deputies responded and were able to pull Wilson over about 13 miles north of the Nacogdoches city limits.

Kerss said the sheriff's office is looking into filing a DWI charge against Wilson, in addition to a reckless driving charge.
