Motorcyclist killed in two-vehicle wreck in Angelina County

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - DPS responded to a fatal wreck on US-103 in Angelina County Sunday afternoon.

According to the report, a 2002 Chrysler van was heading westbound on US-103 about seven miles west of the Lufkin city limits.  As they attempted to make a  U-turn, a motorcycle driven by Tony Cooper, 25 of Corrigan, stuck the van.

Cooper was ejected and died at the scene.  He was pronounced deceased at 2:01 P.M. by Justice of the Peace, Pct. 1 Billy Ball.  Cooper was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the van was uninjured, but the passenger, Annon Card, 92 of Lufkin, was taken to Lufkin Memorial Hospital as a precaution.  He was in stable condition, according to DPS.

No citations have been issued at this time.  Trooper Rodney Tucker was the investigating officer on the wreck.
