A Nacogdoches County Sheriff's deputy arrested two men Monday night after claiming to find marijuana and cocaine hidden in compartments in their vehicle during a traffic stop.
Francisco Javier Huerta, 45, of Sugarland, and Ricardo D. Magallenes, 27, of Sheron, are each charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
According to Sheriff Thomas Kerss, Deputy Derik Stenson made the stop Monday night on U.S. 59 North. Kerss said Stenson found three hidden compartments in their vehicle, two of which contained drugs.
Stenson found six pounds of marijuana in a compartment under the hood, and six grams of cocaine in an add-on fuel tank, Kerss said. A third compartment in the tailgate did not have anything in it.
Both men were being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail Wednesday morning without bond.
Huerta was the driver of the vehicle, according to Kerss.
