Federal authorities are investigating at least one of the men accused of stealing 36 guns from a Cushing store, according to district court records.

Teddy Wylie Williams, 32, was arrested in February following a Nacogdoches Sheriff's Office investigation into the guns theft from The Store in Cushing. The investigation revealed that Williams, who was employed with the business, stole the guns over a period of time, with the help of Lyle Anthony Slaughter, according to Sheriff Thomas Kerss.

The state has dropped the case, according to court records, and it has become a federal case, according to district court records.
