SFA Volleyball moving to new Home

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - The S.F.A. Lady Jacks Volleyball team has a new home, sort of. Head Coach Debbie Humphreys and her team will be playing home games on campus this season in Shelton Gymnasium.

Shelton Gym was the home of the volleyball program through its first 15 years of existence. The last time the team played a full season there was 1998. After that, the Lady Jacks moved into Johnson Coliseum where volleyball crowds were not quite as comfortable. Humphreys believes this move could give them a great boost for home games this year.

"It seems like we are back where we are suppose to be. It's a great volleyball venue honestly; I think it's one of the best places to play volleyball in the country. It's loud, the fans are on top of you, and were just getting back to our old home court advantage that we used to have," said Humphreys.

The volleyball team reports for practice August 8th, and plays its first game in Shelton Gym on September 9th against Texas A&M.
