NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office has arrested a second suspect in connection to a gang-related beating of a man with a gun.
According to Sheriff Thomas Kerss, deputies arrested Hunter Dewayne Harkey, 17, of Nacogdoches, Saturday night at El Castillo Club.
The investigation into the incident began earlier in July when a man said Nelson Mavrieio Rodriguez, 18, of Nacogdoches, got out of a vehicle with an AK-47 and hit a man in the head, who was in his yard in the Briarforest subdivision.
Deputies arrested Rodriguez that night. But a second suspect, Jerry Andrea Pruitt, 19, of Nacogdoches, fled on foot, according to Kerss.
The sheriff's office had since been able to identify Harkey as a third suspect, who was in the vehicle at the time of the attack.
Deputies are still searching for Pruitt.
