NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

The Nacogdoches County Constable Office of Precinct 4 has arrested a Kingtown man accused of abusing his seven-year-old niece Wednesday afternoon.

According to a press release from Constable Jason Bridges, Deputy Constable Shawn Murray responded to a call of assault at a residence in the Kingtown community. Murray concluded that Warren Carl Williams, 61, had assaulted the girl by pushing her to the ground, which caused injuries to her head.

Murray found Williams at his residence and arrested him on a charge of injury to a child, a third-degree felony.

Bridges said he believes alcohol played a part in Williams' violence, as Williams was very drunk at the residence and attempted to fight with Murray during the arrest, he said.
