LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police have arrested an alleged counterfeiter now charged with her third theft after an employee said he caught her stealing from a Walmart in which she was banned.

Ladona Jo Stewart, 25, of Lufkin, is charged with theft, a state-jail felony, and criminal trespass, a Class B misdemeanor.

According to the arrest report, a loss prevention employee at Walmart, located in the 2500 block of Daniel McCall Drive, witnessed Stewart put items in her purse and leave the business. The employee stopped Stewart and escorted her back into the store before contacting Lufkin Police.

Police recovered two packages of men's tank tops, a package of men's socks, a package of men's boxer shorts and two bottled drinks, totaling $28, according to the report.

As Stewart was being booked into the Angelina County Jail, the officer learned she had twice previously been convicted of theft, enhancing her charge to a felony.

According to Lufkin Police records, Stewart was given a criminal trespass warning from Walmart.

Stewart has two cases of counterfeiting pending in Angelina County, involving allegations that she used fake bills at various Lufkin businesses.
