LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Former Lufkin Panther and Texas A&M Aggie Reggie McNeal signed with a new CFL team today.

According to reports on CFL.com, the Edmonton Eskimos acquired the former Toronto Argonaut through free agency. McNeal spent training camp with the Calgary Stampeders, but before ever playing a game for the Stamps has moved on.

McNeal will now compete for a starting wide receiver role in Edmonton. In three years at Toronto Mcneal had 80 catches, for 1,090 yards and 5 touchdowns.

While with Calgary it was mentioned to McNeal that he could return to his college role as a quarterback. No word on if Edmonton will look to utilize his skills under center as well.
